Rebecca Wetzel

President

Rebecca Wetzel has worked with NetForecast since its inception in 2000. She draws on her direct experience of nearly 30 years in data networking.

For 15 years, she was president of Wetzel Consulting LLC, where she helped vendors and network service providers develop successful marketing strategies. She also provided data communications industry insight through articles, white papers, reports, and primary market research. For many years she performed customer-focused market research to help ISPs rate their performance relative to competitors, and determine what new service offerings customers wanted.

Rebecca was vice president of marketing for content delivery vendor InfoLibria, where she helped raise $21.5M in venture funding and dramatically heightened market awareness for the company. She also served as acting vice president of marketing for a number of startups, including Magnifire, an application firewall vendor acquired by F5.

As Director of Internet Consulting at TeleChoice, Inc., Rebecca helped many network service providers develop and hone their internet services strategies. She helped an even larger number of equipment vendors develop strategies to successfully sell to service providers.

As director of marketing at internet pioneer Bolt Beranek and Newman (BBN), Rebecca built and managed the marketing organization that established BBN as a leader in providing internet services to businesses. In addition to responsibility for BBN’s connectivity services, Wetzel masterminded the marketing of the world’s first managed firewall service, the world’s first IP VPN service, and BBN’s ground-breaking web hosting service family. She was a member of the team that sold and delivered BBN’s internet services to AT&T’s business and consumer customers before AT&T developed its own internet service capability.

Co-author of the book Internet Telephony for Dummies, Rebecca has authored dozens of articles, white papers and reports.

Ms. Wetzel has an undergraduate degree from Wellesley College, an MA degree from the Bradford University in West Yorkshire UK, and an MBA from Babson College.
